Two great causes for a better San Marcos!
The San Marcos Double Peak Challenge is coordinated by the Friends of San Marcos Parks and Recreation, a non-profit organization that supports the San Marcos Parks & Recreation Department and its programming. The City of San Marcos is also supporting this event along with our partners at the Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos. The intent of the event is to promote the city, parks, recreation programming, health and wellness as well as The Boys and Girls Club who work to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
The mission of the Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation is to advocate for the health and happiness of the community and visitors to San Marcos by enhancing the city’s parks, recreation programs, and facilities. The Friends of San Marcos are dedicated to responsible stewardship with an emphasis on collaboration, reaching out and working to realize shared goals.
Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The club serves over 3,000 youth each year at 13 locations throughout San Marcos, connecting children and teens with enriching programs and caring mentors whenever school is out.

The San Marcos Double Peak Challenge will be a premier event for anyone who loves to run and wants to challenge them self on our amazing course. Additionally, the festive event and post-race expo will provide ample opportunity to hang out with runners and friends, have some fun and visit our many expo booths. Sponsorship of this event provides direct exposure to a desirable demographic of active, educated people with disposable income.
